Army Sgt. 1st Class John C. Beale, 39, of Riverdale, Ga.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 108th Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition Squadron, 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Georgia Army National Guard, Calhoun, Ga.; died June 4 near Kapisa, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device and small-arms fire.

"Killed in action the week before, the body of Sgt 1st Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009.  The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia.  A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.  Nowadays, once can be led to believe American no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military.  Be it known there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice.  Georgia remains one of those graceful places.  This video is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey."

This author respects every one of those who took time out of their day to pay their respects to one of our fallen heroes!  God bless you, God bless this family for their loss, and God Bless America!
